Indigenous Dancing in New Mexico

Indigenous and local dances take place year round in New Mexico. The dances that are featured in this gallery are from Jemez, Tortugas, Abiquiu, Alcalde (including the female Rainbow Matachines of Alcalde) and Ohkay Owinge, New Mexico. The photos of the children were taken at a Pow-Wow in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The second to the last group of photos were taken at the Gallup InterTribal Ceremonial and the Taos Pow-Wow. The very last group of photos was taken at the firsta for San Francisco de Asis in Golden, New Mexico.
