Bjorn - Thanks for your comment. It is likely that whalebone or driftwood beams supported a turf, skin, thatched seaweed or straw roof. There was little or no woodland on the island at that time (as now).

It seems so peaceful & quiet there, do you know what the roofs were possibly made from?
