Beautiful, dynamic composition. My two cents: The lines on the ground lead to the soldiers in the background (even their rifles seem to be parallel to the ground lines). The horizontal lines of the marble work as a grounding counterpoint, while the vertical line of the foreground soldier adds strenght and energy, as highlighted by the red hat. The two soldiers in the background whose backs face us, complete the picture in a remarkable triangular symetry, Congratulations, you get my vote.
