Dudley (AKA Spud or Spudley) was born deaf so it was inevitable that he would have to be a house cat. As a small kitten he also started to have seizures and after many tests epilepsy was the only possible cause which we managed to control with medication.

It was not fair to just let his brother (Chester) go out and feel the air upon his face, so we hooked up a zip line should he try to escape. We soon realized it was not needed as he was so placid and docile and perfectly happy to just roam the garden.

Unfortunately, he had to have an operation for an ulcerated eye and suffered two seizures whilst under anesthetic. A week later, his abdomen filled with fluid due to heart problems which we were unaware of; maybe the operation had been too much for him.

Having lost two other cats (Charlie & Stanley) with heart problems, we knew the only thing we could do was to let him join them over the Rainbow bridge, where he could run free.

Throughout his short life, he was such a loving cat and soldiered on regardless of the many ailments he had. He will always be out 'Little Soldier'
