Well, we got to go to the World Famous New Orleans Jazz Fest today thanks to the generosity of the Caires. Butch and Gwen got us in on this last friday of the festival and we had a blast! Butch was one of the official Jazz Fest photographers and I managed to get a few shots of him "doing his thing". So much to see and do, and though it's really not our cup of tea, we can certainly appreciate what is there for those who do. We even got to talk to and get a photo op with Samira Evans, a great Jazz singer friend of ours while she was live and on the air on W.W.O.Z. I enjoyed the artistry, the Mardi Gras Indians, the Second Line groups and of course...people watching. Though we only stayed for a couple of hours, we were actually onsite before the gates wre opened so I got some nice shots of exhibits and such without a lot of folks getting in the way of the shots. The interesting thing was to see the phenomenon of sunlight and how it bleaches almost everything out! Hot, Hot, HOT is all I can say! A lot of the shots outside were really bleached out from the strength of the sun and tops were coming off of guys at an alarming rate! I was almost there and ready to take my shirt completely off when it was time for us to leave our gracious hosts. A great time and a lot of quick but fun memories to be sure! Enjoy!
