Oh I love this picture Jen!. The "silent screaming Lady" for me is a symbol of the hidden fear in the heads and minds of the passengers.

****This is as strong an image on the subject of consumer indifference to commercialism as I've seen. The huge face and terrified eye dominate the frame, while the four people before have no idea what is happening. The image is surrealistic in nature. The screaming woman does not exist for these people. She exists only for us. You disguise the facts behind this image. Most would have no idea where she has come from, or why she is there. You disorient us, and then ask your questions, and leave the answers to each of us. And all done with a remarkable pocket camera.

You are right Kal! silent scream! And the wide opened mouth of that woman in the ad which we can not see actually in the picture is just happened to be blocked by the boy's head. It is like the boy is refusing to listen to her.. Because he and the rest of the people are just so involved in their own world..

Wonder why the reaction is so extreem. Could it be that the woman has 13 coins in her hand on Friday the 13th?

I once was on a plane that had an unfortunate incident with an engine...I learned something interesting that day....panic and fear is silent......the lady in the background has a silent scream...she knows it's all going wrong, but she can't tell them....I love this. K
