By itself, this image does not say very much to me, but with that quote, you completely change the context for that empty street. I would suggest you move this picture to your "greeting card gallery" where all of the pictures provide context for various quotes and sayings.
While this image is basically a lovely post card, the grim quote turns it around and give it an incongruously chilling touch. This silent, empty image thereby becomes a place of ghosts. I also find it unusual in that this image appears in the midst of a selection of very pleasing, positive images. Your sudden observation concerning mortality comes as a jolt. A good example of the power of context, in this case verbal, to affect meaning.
