i love the way this is split almost 50/50 dark and light. the figure in the dark seems to be looking out in longing wondering how on earth he is going to follow what looks to be, as Phil already said, a maze. life throws obstacles and hurdles, but they are necessary parts of the journey from dark to light. i find this really poignant.
***Are you telling us that life is a maze, Jen? Which path do we take? I know these are actually retaining walls for a landscape, but the way they twist and turn and the sheer number of them in your frame express confusion and uncertainty. Both human values. The image works, Jen, but the person, who should be the focal point of this picture, and by extension, a symbol for all of us, merges into the foamy water, and it not easily, so the great point is diluted.
