On the front lawn of the Public Museum of Grand Rapids (272 Pearl Street NW).
The space capsule was originally used for recovery training during the joint United States-Soviet Union Apollo-Soyuz missions. Donated and sealed in 1976, the space capsule became a time capsule holding items such as newspapers, photos, letters, a pacemaker, skateboard, and Grand Rapids made furniture. It will be opened during America’s tricentennial on July 4, 2076.
