Mars at opposition! About as close as it's been in 10 years, and in perfect conditions for a photo. The north polar cap is at the top, dark Syrtis Mjor is approaching dusk at the right, and it's morning for Acidalia Planitia to the upper left, with a few hazy bluish clouds. The south pole is shrouded in hazy cloud, and the prominent horizontal bar across the middle is composed of Sinus Sabaeus and Sinus Meridiani.
