NGC1365 in Fornax

Loftus, NSW

Giant barred spiral galaxy NGC1365 is like a galactic maelstrom 56 million light-years away towards the constellation of Fornax. Many other galaxies dot the field on the edge of the Fornax Cluster of galaxies. The most distant galaxy identified in the image (a little speck) is 2.15 billion light-years away.
