This being our first big backpacking trip, we took a leisurely 8 days to complete this 80-km romp down a portion of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Our co-conspirators here were Jen Kwong and Jen Brunton.

voted! Nice to see this again. I got to hike it in June 1979. Failry wild then. I waited a day at the narrows for the native to come and haul us across. They never came, but we found an old boat with oars and paddled at slack tide, 10 minutes latter we meant a group hiking south and they hurried and paddled the boat back. That was the only other hikers we saw on the whole trip to Bamfield
