Landmannalaugar-Thorsmork Trek (Iceland) 2008

In August of 2008, we hiked the 55km between Landmannalaugar and Thorsmork in Southwestern Iceland, one of the most spectacular treks we've done. We had originally planned on camping the entire way, but we were waylaid by premature fall weather which brought rainstorms and one snowstorm during our trek, leaving us with only 1 storm-free day. As a result, we ended up staying in mountain huts for several of the nights. Also, you'll note that our photos depict a wetter and more wintery atmosphere than those posted by many others who have completed the same trek.
