If the baby is our mother, Georgina Mary Hazel June Whittock, then the date is late summer 1923 as she was born on 2nd June 1923. The young woman is her mother, Mary Elizabeth Louisa Whittock (nee Brook), she would have been approaching 19 years old on the 4th October 1923. The man behind her is our grandfather, Bill Whittock, who according to Grannie "ran away to Australia and died in the gutter".
