The Olympus E-M5 II high resolution mode is a an image composed of 8 individual images (created and combined using "sensor-shift" technology) to create an image file with 40MP of resolution. Functionally, the images are more like 50MP in-terms of resolution, if compared to contemporary Full-frame DSLRs with high resolution.
