Spent many hours working with this bird, in reconnaissance squadron RVAH 12. Originally out of NAS Sanford FL and later NAS Albany GA. Never flew off the Midway, but served on the USS Forrestal and Constellation at the same time the Midway was in Vietnam. This variant of the "Vigi" is the RA5C, sporting a pair of J79 GE 8B engines and the Highest tech camera's, forward looking, side looking, and inferred radar of the era. She flew like a stiletto on steroids.
