I had to read the Wikipedia article to see if it would explain the evolutionary rationale for that skinny snout. The article did not disappoint. These guys are fish catchers and the thin snout has low resistance in the water. The snout is only for catching fish, not chewing them. The fish are swallowed whole. Cool!

That is an interesting snout(?). I have never seen or heard of a Gharial.
