Choking

The yellow in this image is not egg noodles, but Cuscuta, commonly known as dodder or amarbel.
It is a genus of over 201 species of yellow, orange, or red (rarely green) parasitic plants.
Their appearance here is fairly recent, and as you can see they are smothering the bushes to death.
It seems to grow fast, so I hope that the park authority does something about this soon.

Looks like it may be hard to stop.

From this distance it looks just like our parasitic dodder-laurels in the genus Cassytha. I don't think ours are ever quite as abundant, nor problematic.

I hope so too. It appears monstrous eating up the landscape. V

Sad to hear what this stuff does. It looks like something alien from a sci-fi movie to me. V

Something we don't need, but your photo has an eerie beauty to it.

yes i hope they find a solution soon to remove this parasite before all is gone, a very nice image BV
