Smoke...

The Valley Fire is burning for the fifth day about 25 miles east of us.
So far it has burned 17,565 acres / 7,108 hectares and is 11% contained. 11 residences and 25 outbuildings have been destroyed.
The fire is being fought by 93 engines, 14 helicopters, eight water tenders, eight air tankers and five bulldozers, as well as over 500 firemen.
Lack of strong winds have made this a much less dangerous fire than it could have been.
As you can see from the photo taken on my morning walk, the air quality is terrible.

A nice capture of this burning sun.

It gives a good impression on how things are right now at the West coast. Same here. The skies are yellow/orange at the moment. No sun to be seen, dark, gloomy. All from the smoke coming in from the creek fire near Fresno. Yuk.

It’s scary yet beautiful. People are so careless. Unfortunately I don’t think anyone learns from past mistakes. V

Seems things could be worse if the winds pick up, hope they dont, crazy weather and temperatures for this time of year for you, hope you stay safe through this and all the other things going on in this crazy world right now.

Unbelievable. If it wasn't for your text, I'd assume this was a morning mist, but no... What a tragedy these fires are in loss of habitat, wildlife, homes, displaced people, all the people who face danger fighting them....

The fire fighters deserve everyone's admiration and best wishes.

catching the low sun and attendant colours shows the air problem well...such particulate-laden air is not normally evident in a coastal city..

So sad and difficult to comprehend the magnitude. Every year. When will those focused only on their stock shares wake up? When will the voting public wake up?
