April 28

Mysterious

On my morning walk, I came upon this flowering tree.
I have no idea what it is. Do you?

Beautiful blooms. Looks like a flower that can be found in Australia.

This sure looks like Silky Oak (Grevillea robusta; family Proteaceae). This fairly large tree is native to sub-tropical rainforest areas of eastern Australia, e.g. south-east Queensland. In Australia, it is a popular plant for parks though too large for most gardens; however, it can be sensitive to frost when young.

I think it is Grevillea and it’s from Australia. Seen them and like you had to ask!
