Growing Home

This is a plaza of a new development in East Village, just completed last year.
To the left is the Baseball Stadium, the dome is the central library and to the right behind the buildings is a rail switching yard.
Until recently this was a semi-abandoned industrial area. With the current housing shortage, this may become a popular place to live.

"Growing Home" is the name of the sculpture in the foreground, which is inscribed with dates and events in the history of San Diego.

Very interesting architecture. V
I presume those upper levels are popular with retired ship captains.

Unique shapes abound. I admire that whelk (?) sculpture. The sculpture combined with the stones remind me of Japanese art. As usual your architectural compositions are flawless.

I wonder what it would be like to live in the pie shaped building? Great point of view, it has so much going on in it. V

Nice to see old industrial areas being transformed. It looks like if everyone stood in the pointy part of the main building, it would tip :) Nice work in B&W and I like the sculpture. V
