Fiery Sundown

Sundown on the hard drive of my iMac today as well. After three years it died on me. First hard drive failure since I started using PC's in 1987.

The service by Apple was impressive. I took the machine to the busiest Apple Store in San Diego around 11:00 without an appointment.
By 12:30 tests had been run on the old machine and it was determined a new hard drive will have to be installed. My cost for the replacement and labor is $0.00.
In that time I also bought a new iMac, this time with a solid state hard drive which is much less likely to fail.
Got home and all data (a lot of it) backed up from the old machine was transferred in just over three hours and I was able to continue where I left off.
Computers sure have changed since I first starting using them at work in 1981.
It's a pleasure to use the iMac, my images look good and so do yours!
