After the Brush Fire

This area on the west side of Kawaay Paay Peak burned on Sunday, July 13
In all 95 acres (385,000 sq. meters) burned. Mostly very dry Chaparral, grass and weeds.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Almost all fires are cause by humans.

A stark scene. Does Chaparral recover well after fire?

It looks like an alien landscape. There is a 'terrible beauty' here. Very sad. V

A great documentary shot of a dramatic story. Hope you'll get some rain soon.

Not good. Especially with your water crisis.

I was gonna say that before you know it, it'll be all green again, but then again, in California, there's no water and people are now fined for using water outside ... on the NBC (US) World news, they said that Oprah Winfrey and Al Gore, both in Montecito (Santa Barbara) have already paid about $1,000,000 in fines!!!! Not surprised 'bout Oprah but Al Gore? Mr. Green Planet!!!!

How sad, a modern deliberate slash and burn.

Wow, that is bleak right now. Fortunately, nature will regenerate if allowed to do so.
