Germany wins the World Cup

It was an exciting World Cup with many memorable moments and some great matches and beautiful goals.

I have seen almost all World Cups since 1966, and I thought from the viewpoint of camera work this was by far the best, both film and still images.

The Jersey in the photo is from the 1992 European Cup.

Fitting image and a great accomplishment for the German team. While their victory today is cherished, it was their dismantling of Brazil that will be the most memorable for me.

today's tense final was hardly a classic, yet fitting that the Germans prevailed, with their skill, concentration, and work ethic...Merkel was quick on the bandwagon...the global reach of the match must have appealed to her..
