Vochol

Volkswagen + Huichol = Vochol

This VW Beetle was decorated by Huichol Artisans from Mexico.
It is decorated with 2.3 million glass beads and took 9,408 hours to complete.
The car is on display at the San Diego Museum of Art and photography is welcome, but not easy with less than ideal lighting conditions.
I will attempt further photos next week.

Now that's some serious detail work! I'm sure you can identify with the Lego projects you and your wife do! Nice shot.

What a beautiful work of art! And what a lot of labour and patience it must have taken to make it so perfect!! Great shot too, in spite of the light difficulties! Well done.

what an amazing car! I can appreciate the time it took to put all those beads on there! It has to be the most beautiful VW I've ever seen. Puts the colorful painted hippie cars to shame! Great shot, Walter. V~

A uniquely decorated retired VW Beetle -- looks like appliques crafted from fabric
along with knitted sections; a rolling tapestry? A cool & fun capture, Walter!
