The USS Midway
This Aircraft Carrier is now the largest museum ship in the world with much of it accessible to the public.

A few USS Midway facts: 1,001 feet long - 258 feet wide - 4 acre flight deck - 212,000 horse power - 69,000 tons total weight
18 decks - 2,000 compartments - 2,000 electric motors - 1,500 telephones - 3,000 miles of wiring - 65-100 aircraft
4,500 crew - 600 men in engineering - 225 cooks - 200 pilots - 225,000 men served on the Midway
3-4 million gallon fuel capacity, 100,000 gallons used daily, 260 gallons per mile - 13,500 meals, 10 tons of food served daily - 3,000 potatoes and 1,000 loaves of bread daily

we didn't go on it yesterday but hope to in the next few weeks.. ok my husband hopes to, Tren and I are thinking we'll wait on the beach!
