The toilet, known as the head in nautical speak. The B-39 submarine has three heads for its crew of 78.
Lingering in the head was tantamount to committing a crime.

All very nice photos of what must have been a great boat. Your comment about joining the Submarine Core, being female aside, was difficult as they only selected the best out of the Navy. Obvious why when you look at all the various wheels, switches, valves, etc. any one of which could get you and the entire crew pretty wet in a hurry.
