A clear November's morning In South Yorkshire. Wentworth is twixt Barnsley and Rotherham.
Wentworth has always been a special place as it was the home of the Earls Fitzwilliam. On the edge of the village is the longest fronted house in Europe built, by the family, in the Palladian style. Wentworth Woodhouse is not well known as it has never been open to the public. In the recent past it was used as a college and at that time it was possible to tour the house by appointment. Now it has returned to "family" use and can only be seen from a public path which passes near to it.... some pad...Reputedly £15m to buy and £15m to refurbish.
