Up to now Scotrail were doing fine, decent trains, clean and on time but can someone explain to me why when the station entrance is at one end of the single platform does the train run all the way down to the other end of the platform. The spur into the station a more than long enough for the train to stop as it enters the station and would save all the passengers a walk.

There's me being silly again, thinking the railways are run for the passengers when we know it clearly isn't.
