Within a two hour drive from the South Rim village at Grand Canyon NP, Sunset Crater NM boasts
the youngest volcano on the Colorado Plateau - not that most of us were aware that one would find volcanic activity here. Native American residents of the area 900 years ago must have had a rude awakening to that reality, though.
