No boat, plus threat of high winds and strong seas, meant Plan B,
a visit to Hatcher Pass, an amazing group of cirqued mountains
where the US Olympic Ski team trains during the winter. Full of
abandoned mines & home to the Independence Mine State Historic
Site, we amused ourselves with a long hike up a forgotten valley.
