History echoes within these walls. Had just seen "Gladiator" back in the States a couple weeks earlier, a good set-up for appreciating what this place was built and used for. Amazingly uncrowded for a warm summer afternoon, so I found many vantage points to sit quietly on the rows of stone and contemplate my ancestors who may have helped build, fought or been macabrely entertained here.
