2007 - Iceland
The Jökulsárlón glaciel bay is at the bottom of Breiđamerkurjökull which is an arm of the Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe.
This bay is connected to the ocean by a small outlet that is more like a river. If it was considered a lake, it would be the deepest lake in Iceland. The Breiđamerkurjökull calves icebergs into this bay where they accumulate until they can make the trip down to the ocean.
