Last week (Jan 2011) I did a solo trekking to "Salto de Apoquindo". This is four hours walk (in total it is around seven hours) that culminates in a beautiful waterfall at the central Andes of Santiago, Chile. The landscape is dry, but full of life. The difficulty is moderate, but regular walkers should not have problems to complete the trail even on a summer day.
