Este mercado es uno de los más antiguos y tradicionales de la Ciudad de México. Mercados are very important, especially if you are passionate about cooking, and Mercado San Juan in Mexico City is no exception. This mercado is known for its exotic meats, and although as a vegetarian I can walk through this place, I have chosen to show more of the variety that exists at this market rather than dead animals. The variety is truly impressive. In the one half you have the freshest fish/seafood and meat ranging from fresh turkeys with their long necks hanging over the side of the table to whole lambs the size of a cats. The second half contains exotic fruits, oriental vegetables, spices from around the world, insects, nuts, and when in season, fresh mushrooms including morels and porcini.
