Our well.....
When we moved here in 1975, the top had been demolished and the well head had been hidden by large timber beams topped with corrugated iron sheets and then earth contained by a rectangle of low brickwork....forming a raised flower bed. However maps showed its position. We uncovered it and even had to fish a lot of rubbish out of it..including an old pram. We found the original handle and spindle in a ditch in the field next door and my husband built this new top.
