On April 23, 1930, my uncle, F.E. Lothian, and fellow teacher J.A. Hyndman, led a group of students on a hike through this area. Mr. Hyndman fell into the river. My uncle jumped in to try to save him. They both drowned. Until today, I was unaware of the location of the accident. This photo gives me an indication of how easy it would be to lose ones footing. It also shows how difficult it would be to attempt any rescue. Thank you. Bruce Lothian
