St Jakobs Church. Originally the 12th century building was Roman style. In the 14th century the church was rebuilt in Gothic style, but in 1636 a tower was built but not never completed. During the First World War the church was destroyed and only the 14th century west portal remained. However, as part of the postwar exact reconstruction of Ypres, St. Jakobs's tower was completed by a stone spire.
