The current cruciform church is the third church to stand at this site. However, the altar hanging and chalice, baptismal font, and the largest church bell all come from the old medieval stave church. This church was completed in 1859. The old altarpiece from 1630 is still in there, but the new one was painted in 1876, and the rest of the church walls and ceiling were decorated by a local artist from Ulvik in 1923.
