A 16th century house in Reutte with mid-18th century Luftlmalerei paintings on the exterior. Luftlmalerei is a handicraft method of wall-painting for decorating the baroque facades, in the foothill regions of the Alps in Italy, Austria and Southern Germany. The method began to become popular with wealthy traders, peasants and craftsmen who displayed their wealth by means of lavishly painted homes. The building also has preserved fragments of paintings which date from around 1600. The house is named after the family of painters who owned it during the 18th century.
