Sygun Copper Mine near Beddgelert.....abandoned in 1903, but was renovated and reopened as a tourist attraction in 1986. Its self-guided audio-visual tour of the underground workings tells the story of its miners in the 18th & 19th centuries. Sygun mine may have Roman origins as there are remains of a Roman fort near by.
