The castle comprises a defensive tower that originated around the 10th century and an adjacent 19th century mansion. It is now a private residence, having been the headquarters of the winemakers Carl Jung, and has been used as a temporary residence for many artists, including the composer Brahms. Today it is still regularly used to hold concerts. In the background is a gondola that travels up over the vineyards.
