To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his wood carving career, Hubert Salcher decided to open Tirol's first Wood Museum. There are over 2000 exhibits in the unique museum where Hubert lives and works......it's a rather bizarre place, the tiny house seems to have endless rooms crammed with all sorts of wooden items in no particular order! Curiosities and interesting facts all about wood can be found there. If you have ever wanted to see a wooden bra or wooden stockings, you can find them and hundreds more similar oddities in the museum. Most of the curious works of art are made by the owner.......including musical instruments, cribs, sculptures, furniture and tools, a dwarfs’ workshop, a research centre for woodworm, a sculpture garden, a tree house and a garden railway – everything is based on wood.
