A district of this old city that's like a maze....... Angel Alley & Hell Alley, whose former inhabitants were the town's craftsmen. The close half-timbered façades with larger overhanging upper floors and street level wine cellar entrances, as seen in this picture, are typical. Wine growing was considerable in those past times and most houses have their own wine cellars with street entrances.
