SANDSTONE OUTCROP

Rackham - West Sussex

Cliff and small caves overlooking the car park at Rackham Old School
In the Stone Age the making of flint tools was quite a large-scale industry in the hamlet of Rackham. There is evidence of an even earlier site which was probably a short-stay camp for a small group of hunter-gatherer people, sheltering from the wind that blew across Amberley Wildbrooks.
