MYSTERY WINDOW

Nuthurst Church - West Sussex

The window is a jumble of glass - heads, hooves, bits of lettering and more.
The story is that this window was buried during Cromwell's civil war period to protect it from damage by soldiers, and that when they came to reconstruct it they had forgotten the how it went together. Although a great story, it is thought unlikely to be true as the glass is probably Victorian.
