Wawel Cathedral was the coronation site of the Polish monarchs and remains Poland's most important national sanctuary and, due to its 1000-year-old history and numerous treasures, it is one of the most interesting places in the country, along with the adjacent Wawel Royal Castle. Its 14th century walls shelter a variety of objects of art from all ages.
