The 70 metres high City Hall Tower stands alone in the Market Square, and is the only remnant of beautiful Town Hall built in the 14th century which was finally pulled down in the 19th century because of its irretrievably unsafe condition. The present Baroque roof dates back to 1780s when tower was heightened.
