We saw this wedding arriving at the church, from a distance.....it looked like half the town were there, and the local brass band. At about 6 a.m. that morning we had been woken by the most enormous series of bangs. This happened once before on a previous trip, in Kramsach, Austria. It's rather frightening at the time, not knowing what on earth was happening....but we were informed it is a tradition in this part of the world, when the bridegroom's family set off these explosions on a high hill or peak near their home.
Not sure if this decoration was at the couple's home, or that of a relative or friend.
