Commemorating the remains of 24,917 unidentified German soldiers interred in the mass 'Comrades Grave' at Langemark Cemetery. In recent years research has identified 16,940 of the 24,000 previously 'unknown' soldiers buried here and since 1984 their names have been inscribed on granite blocks by the communal grave.
